Ephesians 6:10–11 (NLT)
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
Standing in your authority is a step I take every morning. As a child of God, you face the attacks of the enemy every single day. Our struggle is not against people. We fight against unseen beings—evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, mighty powers in this dark world, and evil spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 NLT).
That’s why I put on the spiritual armor every morning, so I can stand in the authority God has given me. This is what I proclaim each morning—something that has grown over time into my personal proclamation, based on Ephesians 6, the armor of God.
---
Lord, today I put on the spiritual armor again.
The Belt of Truth
Because You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through You.
John 14:6 (NLT)
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
I also buy truth today and do not sell it—
wisdom, instruction, and insight.
Proverbs 23:23 (NLT)
Get the truth and never sell it; also get wisdom, discipline, and good judgment.
---
The Breastplate of Righteousness
I put it on because I can stand righteous before God
through what Jesus has done for me.
In Him I am redeemed by His blood,
and my sins are forgiven
because of the rich grace God has poured out on us.
Ephesians 1:7 (NLT)
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
[Here I take time to ask the Holy Spirit if there are sins that need to be confessed. Take a moment to do the same.]
You carried my sins in Your own body
when You died on the cross.
Because of that, I am now dead to sin
and can live for what is right.
By Your wounds I am healed!
1 Peter 2:24 (NLT)
He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
---
Therefore I proclaim:
My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus.
All my limbs and organs are weapons of righteousness.
Satan has no right, no claim, and no memory in me,
nor any unsettled accusations against me.
Everything has been settled by the blood of the Lamb!
I overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of my testimony:
I am more than a conqueror through Him
who loved me.
Romans 8:37 (NLT)
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
My body belongs to the Lord,
and the Lord cares for my body.
And I do not love my life even unto death.
---
Feet Fitted With the Readiness of the Gospel
I want to boldly testify of Your goodness and faithfulness.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!
Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Show me the paths I should walk, Lord.
Teach me the ways You want me to go.
I want to learn from You,
for You are the God from whom I expect my help.
I know there is no hope outside of You.
You show the best path to those
who turn to You in dependence.
And when we obey You,
every path You lead us on
will be adorned with Your unfailing love and truth.
Psalm 25:4–5, 9–10 (NLT)
Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.
He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
---
The Shield of Faith
I lift it up to extinguish the flaming arrows of the devil.
For I submit myself only to God,
I resist the devil,
and he will flee from me!
James 4:7 (NLT)
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Away from this life-house!
Away from this home!
Away from this street!
Away from this neighborhood!
Away from this city!
Away from this country!
Jesus is Lord!
He has all authority in heaven and on earth!
Matthew 28:18 (NLT)
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.”
I align myself with the armies of the Lord of Hosts,
Jehovah Sabaoth, the Most High God, El Elyon,
and I drive out every god and idol lingering here.
Away from this life-house!
Away from this home!
Away from this street!
Away from this neighborhood!
Away from this city!
Away from this country!
Jesus is Lord!
He has all authority in heaven and on earth!

The Helmet of Salvation
I place it on my head.
Ephraim is the helmet.
Psalm 60:7 (NLT)
Ephraim, my helmet, will produce my warriors…
Ephraim means “double fruitfulness.”
Fill my thoughts with the double fruit of Your Spirit:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self‑control.
Galatians 5:22–23 (NLT)
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
---
The Sword of the Spirit
You are my Lord, my Savior.
You protect me on the day of battle.
Therefore I take up the sword of the Spirit,
the Word of God, which says:
He who is in me is greater
than he who is in the world!
1 John 4:4 (NLT)
…because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
I also take my bow and arrows
to keep the powers of darkness far from me—
the bow of praise
and the arrows of the double fruit of Your Spirit.
(Study Zechariah 9:13 and note the meaning of the names.)
I shoot the arrows of love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self‑control.
And every arrow You shoot will hit its mark, Lord.
Psalm 64:7 (NLT)
But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.
---
Holy Spirit, teach me today
to think what Jesus thinks,
to see what Jesus sees,
to hear what Jesus hears,
to say what Jesus says,
to smell what Jesus smells,
to feel what Jesus feels,
to do what Jesus does,
to go where Jesus goes.
Fill me with heavenly power!
Let living water flow through me.
Teach me to follow Jesus,
to love Him,
to worship Him,
to walk in newness of life,
and to read His Word,
learn from it,
and do it!
---
This is how I begin each day, standing in the authority I have in Jesus.
Not a magic formula, but something that has grown over the years into my personal proclamation to face each new day full of faith.
