Hebrews 12:1–2 (NLT)
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.”
Today I begin my annual Reset to ensure that I keep running the race of life without extra weight. A yearly cycle established by You, Lord, through the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Clearing out everything that gets in the way in my life—anything that obscures my view of the goal set before me. Leaving dead‑end side paths so I can continue walking on Your way, Lord Jesus. Because You have gone before me and know exactly which direction I must go to reach the finish. You know precisely which snares the enemy has skillfully placed around me to make me lose the race.
But that is not going to happen, Lord Jesus. Because as I walk, run, move forward—or even sit for a moment—I know that victory is a certainty.
Romans 8:37 (NLT)
“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.”
You have already overcome, Lord Jesus, and therefore You are the best coach in the race I am running. You cause faith to grow, because You are the supreme example of perfect faith.
The victory set before me is the assurance of things I hope for and the evidence of things I do not yet see (Hebrews 11:1).
Help me, and all those who join me in this annual Reset, through these 15 steps.
And Holy Spirit, reveal what needs to be cleared out of our lives.
